Eldad Garfunkel, 64, is married with four sons, lives in Israel Rakefet-Misgav, and is a vegan.
In 1999, he co-founded the first Jewish-Arab school under the “Hand in Hand” association and served on its steering committee for about fifteen years.
He retained that position until 2013, when he fell ill with a disease that affected the nerves in his legs and hands. He also founded and managed a successful software development business (2008). Previously, in 2000, he developed the first Arabic translation and website development company among the first in the world in Arabic language development.
After rehabilitation and hard work, Eldad returned to full function from the disease that had stuck him down.
He graduated from the Heschel Center’s Fellows Program, which trains leaders for social, economic, and environmental change.
He is a graduate of the Technion Haifa coaching course.
He volunteers as a Spiritual care giver for patients with life-changing illnesses. Women, men, and children.
Eldad invests his time and energy mainly in advancing the population in Madagascar’s harsh southern region.
