IRC Africa works for meaningful action for the well-being of the people of southern Madagascar. To ensure the success of our mission in such a remote area with harsh living conditions, we chose to operate in several interconnected and mutually reinforcing fields. This approach allows us to create a broader and more significant impact that provides comprehensive solutions to local residents.
Women’s Safety and Independence: Our activities include the establishment of shelters and centers for victims of rape and violence that provide medical, emotional, and legal support to affected women. These centers also offer vocational training and employment opportunities, promoting women’s economic independence and helping them build new lives.
Entrepreneurship and Employment: We establish centers for women’s entrepreneurship and employment, offering training in various professions and support in starting small businesses. Our goal is to economically empower women and improve the employment situation in the area.
Technological Development and Education: Establishing a software house and a technology campus will allow us to provide professional IT training, deliver essential skills and create employment opportunities for the community. We will use AI technologies and software development for local needs and projects. Additionally, we will develop courses and workshops for young people and women to encourage technological education and develop the next generation’s skills.
Promoting Environmental Sustainability: We work to preserve the environment and promote sustainability and climate through environmental education, sustainable agricultural practices, and green technology implementation. A significant part of our activity is monitoring local water sources due to the shortage of clean water. With levels of malnutrition among infants and children aged 0-5 at 30%, when combined with polluted water, these conditions contribute to high morbidity and mortality. We aim to improve environmental quality and create a sustainable future for future generations.
Multidisciplinary Activities: These activities complement each other and create a broad, deep support system for local residents. This comprehensive approach will help us achieve our goals in the best possible way.
