IRC Africa Inc. raises its own resources and contributes strategic development, international relationships, access to expertise, and legal and financial accountability within the U.S. nonprofit framework.
Each organization has a clear, complementary role. Local knowledge and international experience should strengthen one another.

The shelter provides 24/7 protection and support in Ambovombe for women and girls seeking safety from violence, together with their children.

Cyclone Valley is a planned employment, entrepreneurship, leadership, and technology center for women with different educational backgrounds. It has been designed and is awaiting funding to launch.

Research and feasibility work examines climate, coastal communities, food security, livelihoods, and women’s vulnerability while building local research capacity.

How We Work
We begin with the problem, not with a project we want to impose. Before a significant investment, we examine the need, speak with relevant people, and review what already exists. The right response may be a new program, a connection between existing actors, or support for a local initiative that works.
We use the word partner carefully. A meeting or professional contact does not create a formal partnership. Field realities must be able to change the plan.
